WEMG stands for Writing, English, Maths and General ability. This is the most comprehensive course that helps build a strong foundation for students

WRITING

This allows students to develop efficient skills in organising the structure of their writing. There is a focus on developing critical thinking, cognitive skills as well as reasoning abilities.

ENGLISH

The English language skills are developed via encouraging constant interaction between the student and teacher when reading and answering the questions. We provide material that puts additional emphasis on spelling, increasing vocabulary, developing reading skills and practising comprehension questions.

MATHEMATICs

A thoroughly thought out tuition guide is essential to completely understand mathematical theories, principles and formulas used to solve mathematical problems. We have several classes to allocate groups of students with similar learning skills to provide a more efficient and customised learning experience.

Thinking

Selective Trial Test Course

The SElective Trial Test Course is THE MOST USEFUL AND practical course that is IMPERATIVE FOR STUDENTS PREPARING TO SIT FOR the Selective High School Placement Test.

The Selective Trial Test Course is developed by Australia ABC College and is the most effective method for students to manage their time efficiently as well as mitigating any careless mistakes and exam nervousness. They will be well prepared to sit the entrance exams just by doing this course as we have a 92% success rate. Students are required to do testing each week. Difficult questions and incorrect answers are corrected and explained to the students by teachers so that they can thoroughly understand what they are learning. Students are taught how to perform to the best of their abilities.

Opportunity Class Trial Test Course

The OC Trial Test Course helps students find success in their OC Placement Test.

This course from Australia ABC College has been shown to build confidence and is a significant factor in ensuring success in the Opportunity Class Placement Test. We have set up conditions for students that allows them to replicate what it will be like to sit the actual Placement Tests. Once students have finished the exams, the answer sheets will be marked immediately so that students can have immediate feedback on which questions and areas they need to work on. Teachers will also go through thoroughly the entire test paper, explaining each question step by step and in depth whilst focusing on the most challenging questions the students faced.

The actual Opportunity Class Placement Test will require students to answer 35 questions in 30 minutes for part 1 and another 35 questions in 30 minutes for part 2. The General Ability section was notoriously very challenging and difficult for students participating in the Selective School entrance exams. This has now been updated to Thinking Skills. Therefore students need to utilise time management skills as well as staying calm under pressure to be able to deliver correct answers which can be very difficult.

Through our many years at Australia ABC College we have been coaching students in this area and we have understood the challenges that students face, with this in mind we have set up a dedicated class for this subject. Students will sit for this exam once a week under typical exam conditions . While the answer sheets are being marked, teachers review the entire test paper with particular focus on difficult questions. Each question is explained thoroughly, step-by-step. Students receive their individual results at the end of the session as a record of their performance as well as bringing Thinking Skills style questions to take home for homework to be marked the following week. The Special Thinking Skills Course much like the Selective Trial Test Course will help your child to manage his or her time efficiently, minimise errors, overcome examination nervousness and perform at his or her optimum level under examination conditions.
